The longlist with 15 contenders was revealed in early December and now the wait is over – the countdown to find the BBC Sound Of 2010 winner has begun!

On Monday New York group The Drums were awarded fifth place. Late last year, it was announced that The Drums would have the opening slot at this year’s Shockwaves NME Awards Tour, supporting The Maccabees, Bombay Bicycle Club and The Big Pink (who were nominated in the BBC Sound Of 2009 longlist).  Tickets are still available for this tour, for more details, click here.

Tuesday saw the Manchester electro duo Hurts taking fourth place.  These lads are yet to release a single or even play a live show!

On Wednesday Delphic was announced as third place. The trio from Manchester trio who mix indie guitars and euphoric electronica are playing at Brighton’s Audio later this month and there are only 20 tickets left (click here for more details).  See these guys at an intimate venue while you can – they are sure to be huge!

Today, the lovely Marina And The Diamonds was announced as runner up. Fearless, ambitious and stylish, her debut album ‘The Family Jewels’ – to be released next month – is a compelling pop confessional.  Check out our exclusive interview with Marina online in the October issue of XYZ Magazine.

Tomorrow, the winner will finally be announced.  Who will it be – Daisy Dares You, Devlin, Ellie Goulding, Everything Everything, Gold Panda, Joy Orbison, Owl City, Rox, Stornoway or Two Door Cinema Club? Hot favourite is Ellie Goulding who late last year was winner of the BRIT’s 2010 Critics Choice Award….
